Hi,
the good thing about HDL is that there is (almost?) no moderation and everything can be posted. But this is also it's huge downside! You can get everything on hiddenlol ...plain funny stuff, racist jokes, porn and gore.
I love the dark and not always politcally correct humour on the site ...but lately I can't take the gore anymore so I started to stay away from the side because it ruined the experience when I saw people hanged on their own intestines, slaughtered bodies or other people that get/got killed. But that's just me. Others might get bored by porn or they just come to the site for the gore.
I suggest that one has to choose a category in which a post belongs (mandatory). For example the ones mentioned from above: funny stuff (safe for work), racist jokes, porn and gore. Then every user should be able to set in the profile which categories he wants to hide.
With this method people could choose what they want to see. This leads to increased traffic on the site, more desireable posts*, which leads again to more users ...which leads to more money for Hiddenlol.
*for example: I downvote every gore post I come across to, because I really don't want to see such stuff ...I'm sure, there are many other people doing the same thing. So if people who don't want to see the gore stuff can hide it, they are not able to downvote it. That means there will be less "haters" and people who like stuff like this can upvote it, so it doesn't get lost after -13 points or whatever. So it's more commonly to have gore posts (or which ever category you like) on the page, but just for the ones who want to see it.
This whole thing would not be too difficult to implement (databases) and everyone would profit from it (user and owner of the site).
