Hi,
I will start by saying that I find the events of the past few days are deplorable. It sadden me to see the Hugelol community tearing itself apart like it did. It seems that users had frustration against the way things are on the web site and expressed it by inappropriate ways. Hugelol's administration reacted to that with by banning many of those users. I support the method that the admin used, since it is their responsibility to keep the site clear from spam and overly NSFW content. Yet again, I fear that the scale at which those banning as been done might affect the quality of the site by "starving" it from it content. It also seems that many of the banned user didn't want to get banned and want to resume their implication in the site.
So, here is my proposition : The banned users could present apologies and promise that they will behave in the future. The administration would judge if the demand is acceptable and reintegrate the user to the community after a certain time in the case being. We could see the exclusion time as a sentence. I understand that the accounts of HL and of its forum aren't linked, so those user can post their demands here even if their account is inaccessible.
I think this might help everyone to enjoy HL again. Thank you for your time.

I don't think they can UnBan users, it would be easier to create another account with the same name.

Thing about that is, you can't trust anyone, especially on "The Internet". As I see it, there's not really anything stopping anybody from "misbehaving" again.
I do find some bans really ridiculous, don't get me wrong on that (considering I made two posts that were "social commentaries" of what has been going on, hell, they even reached Front). It's just a thought, and I believe the Admins might be thinking the same thing.

I think this might help everyone to enjoy HL again. This ship sailed 3 months ago and it was obvious the chain of events would lead to an outcome like this. hl wont unban anyone, they'll just wait out any flaming, raids and etc. then get back to a much weaker but normal state, because a big deal of the visitors dont read the news to have any opinion about whats going on. oldfags will make their site witch could go either ways, but i doubt it will be as glorious as they imagine it to be. when people get themselves too seriously this always creates tension. especially on the internet where every fag can sit on his pc and post anything in responce. So admins who start thinking they can manipulate a community, or oldfags who will so deeply cherish their lol inheritence and definately start pushing strict "no repost, no unfunny, no porn, no..." rules....there will always be that element that will break things. If you could learn anything from this it is just not take things so seriously yourself. you wont be telling your kids about a banana raid you did when you were in your puberty.

If not, the admin must have backup of the server from somewhere before the ban from which they could extract the account's data. The possibility to recover account with all the karma and posts seems more tempting then restart one from scratch.

This is why the user would have to tell why he want to return to HL. The possibility that someone take the effort to write a credible apologies letter, then start raiding or whatever only to get ban minutes later seems odd to me. Yet, as you said, this is "The Internet".

I get that saving a joke site might not worth the effort for many users, but tools should exist for the ones that want to do so, like a ban appeal for example.
